According to "Annals and Antiquities of the Counties and County Families of Wales" by Thomas Nicholas (2nd Ed. 1872) Bledddyn ap Cynfyn was the recognized founder of the third royal tribe of Wales and as real a historical figure as Edward the Confessor. He held sway over all northern Wales and was favored by Edward the Confessor to rule in the south of Wales as well and was considered a good king. He was murdered by Rhys ap Owain about 1073, plunging Wales into a series of internal fights which provided the Normans with an excuse to come in and take over.

General Notes: Husband - Robert Potters

Among those awaiting the plane's arrival was Paul Potters, a Ketchum resident whose father was 1st Lt. Robert Potters who flew 36 missions in B-17G bombers, including the bombing of Dresden. I can't believe this plane is coming to the Hailey airport, said Potters, who wore his father's flight jacket. The plane he flew most was named Blood and Guts for George Patton. I remember he had a chunk from an 88 mm anti-aircraft gun that hit his plane and rattled around. One time, he told me, a German fighter ran out of ammo and flew alongside him, waving. Paul Potters says his father had to land his B-17 Bomber when it was shot up over France. He was listed missing in action for a while. But the crew patched the plane up and they hand-pumped enough fuel in it to get back to England.

The American Air Museum in Britain site confirms that he flew 36 missions as pilot, flying B-17s "Blood N Guts" and "Rugged But Right". He was awarded the Air Medal w 3/Oak Leaf Clusters. See: http://www.americanairmuseum.com/person/185535 . He was in the 91st Bomb Group.

The site confirms that Blud N Guts was damaged and forced to land in Belgium on November 21, 1944 but was repaired and returned to base November 28.

For those who would be interested in what such a B17 pilots went through, see the new Apple + series “Masters of the Air “. The show follows members of the 100th bomb group who began flying missions in mid 1943. By this time the crew of the Memphis Belle were being celebrated for being one of the first crews to successfully complete 25 bombing missions between November 1942 and May 1943 despite horrendous casualties. Robert Potters 36 missions were flown beginning in 1944. See https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/148466334/robert-potters .
